SDW PRIVACY / DATA PROTECTION INFORMATION

All personal data will be processed in accordance with the EU Data Protection Law. The ECB is the controller in the processing of the personal data collected while visiting the SDW. You consent to the processing by providing the personal data that is requested.

You can withdraw your consent at any time via the Statistical Information Request form with subject “SDW personal data” or by contacting the ECB’s Data Protection Officer (DPO) at dpo@ecb.europa.eu. Future processing of your personal information will stop once you have withdrawn your consent, but processing prior will remain lawful.

The recipients of your personal data will mainly be the SDW administrators and staff of Directorate General Statistics (DG-S). Sensitive user data that might be collected through SDW login, registration and activity are e-mail, encrypted password, last login date, My baskets (“My Data Groups” / “My Publications”) and IP address (only stored in the activity logs). Furthermore, your SDW news subscription preferences will be retained in case you subscribe to SDW news. We will keep your data for as long as you actively use our service. Your data will either be deleted after 2 years of inactivity (without further notice) or at your request earlier.

ECB makes use of Google Analytics, an external service, to obtain statistics about the usage of the website. For this purpose log information collected by the SDW’s servers is also sent to servers operated by Google in the United States. Google self-certifies compliance with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield framework that the U.S. Department of Commerce developed in consultation with the European Commission in order to meet the European ‘adequacy’ standard for privacy protection.

You have the right to restrict processing and to access, rectify and (with some exceptions) erase stored data relating to your person. You can exercise your rights by contacting DG-S via the Statistical Information Request form with subject “SDW personal data”. If you have any further questions, you can contact the ECB’s Data Protection Officer (DPO) at dpo@ecb.europa.eu. Furthermore, you have the right to have recourse at any time to the European Data Protection Supervisor regarding the processing of your personal data.
