Asset types

Non-financial assets are divided into produced non-financial assets and non-produced non-financial assets. Produced non-financial assets (N1) are outputs from production processes. Non-produced non-financial assets (N2) are economic assets that come into existence by means other than through processes of production such as dwellings and machinery. They consist of natural assets (e.g. land, mineral and energy reserves), contracts, leases, licences, permits, and purchases less sales of goodwill and marketing assets. Finally, housing wealth is the total of dwellings and the land underlying these dwellings.
