Business volumes"Business volumes" are those volumes of deposits and loans that are classified as “new business”. “New business” is defined as any new agreement between a household or a non-financial corporation and a bank. New agreements comprise all financial contracts, the terms and conditions of which specify, for the first time, the interest rate on a deposit or loan, as well as all new negotiation of existing deposits and loans. Existing deposit and loan contracts that are prolonged automatically, i.e. without the active involvement of the household or non-financial corporation, and that do not involve any renegotiation of the terms and conditions, including the interest rate, are not considered new business.
